Make it Big and Make it Last
Longevity in music requires the complete package. Beyond artistic skill, this means the ability to recognise and adapt to new opportunities. It requires a familiarity with the latest in technologies and music software, and an awareness of music's important role in entertainment arenas such as media, movies and advertising.
Both the Bachelor of Entertainment (Popular Music and Performance) and the Associate Degree of Popular Music and Performance provide you with skills in:
- Your chosen instrument
- Songwriting
- Musical arrangement
- Improvisation
- Performance for stage, screen & studio
- Solo & band sessions
- Performance training
- Movement classes
- Multimedia
- Communication studies
- The application of the Internet in the music industry
As a performing arts student at JMC Academy, you'll be encouraged to explore your own creativity and performance limits. And you'll enjoy numerous opportunities to apply your skills in a variety of practical situations, including working professionally in an ensemble fashion throughout the course, four performance evenings each semester, and an awards/showcase performance night at the end of each year.

I have been lucky enough to work while studying, with bands like the Whitlams, the Cruel Sea, and with Disney's production of Toy Story on Ice. It's pretty full-on but excellent fun.
