Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies)

Course delivered by University of South Australia

Major:

  • Indigenous Studies

Course Overview

The Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies) degree develops students' knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal cultures and societies and their relationships within the broader Australian context. It emphasises social justice and recognises social diversity within a framework that promotes ethical action and empowerment.

This arts degree ensures that graduates will hold the specialist knowledge and skills to apply in their chosen profession as well as the broader, generic knowledge and skills that businesses look for.

This is the only completely online Indigenous Studies degree in Australia. Students are able to specialise in Indigenous Studies as well as one other major or two minors of their choice.

What You Will Learn with the Bachelor of Arts (Indigenous Studies)

This course provides students with the opportunity to gain an understanding of the cultures, histories and contemporary issues that apply to Indigenous Australians prior to and following European settlement. You will explore the relations between Indigenous Australians and the wider community, encompassing insights and analysis of social and cultural experience derived from both Indigenous and non-Indigenous sources.
