Who is This Child Care Course for?

This TAFE course is ideal for those seeking a recognised qualification to work in the child care sector. The Diploma of Children's Services qualifies you to work in centre-based and family day care, and supervise other staff and volunteers
In NSW, this diploma is the minimum standard required to manage a child care service. In most states, it is the highest qualification required at director or service manager level.
Please note that due to legislative requirements, you need to be at least 18 years of age to gain employment in the child services industry.

Child Care Course Requirements
A Prohibited Employment Declaration must be signed by students in courses where contact will be made with children. SEEK Learning will provide you with this form when you enrol.
As part of the course assessment, you'll need to arrange work placement for a total of 400 hours. This placement will need to be pre-approved by OTEN.
You must also complete a Senior First Aid certificate in order to receive the Diploma of Children's Services. Contact a SEEK Learning consultant to find out more about these requirements.

There are 4 stages to be completed in this TAFE child care diploma course.
